Stimulate me already.
Well then GET ON WITH IT ALREADY!
I should not complain I mean I DO owe the government money and everything.
I think I owe them like twenty five dollars. Or 300. Or something.
I don't remember.
Seems that if they can take that much money away from a person making 9,000 a year and STILL ask them to pay money to the government they can SERIOUSLY kiss my ass and wait until I take care of my own family concerns first.
I want to pay down my bills so that they stop bugging me for a while.
I have enough to worry about. There is something to say about more money more problems. I seriously think I would like to have less stuff and less money. Then I would have less things to worry about taking care of and losing.
Except my cats, they take priority because they require little and GIVE GIVE GIVE.
Natures little scrumptious muffins.
so cute I could eat their fuzzy faces off.

Forsythia
Thank you http://obsidiankitten.blogspot.com for that little bit of information.
I knew about the hyacinth because its one of my favorite scents and flowers but the yellow bush was thwarting me!
So I am at the WCC working on stuff and alternately trying to find a job.
I have applied to 4 places already and its been an hour.
I am only looking for part time one would think I would be able to find something!
I have a pretty decent portfolio!
I am freezing because the window in the office is open and it is 50 degrees in here.
YAY! 50 degrees!
I have a coat, sweat shirt and two t-shirts on and my hands are FREEZING!
I am going to ask Jonathen to shut the GD window.
We just found out there is going to be a new 40 below summit for people 40 years old and younger to try to drum up people staying in Syracuse who are 40 and younger. But since the job market here sucks we are trying to get local not for profits to come and do job fairs and get 40 and younger people out to try to get them to apply for jobs and stay in the Syracuse area.
I am going to be doing the 40 below Summit meeting and hopefully it will give me some job leads. Which leads me to my next task, contacting Robin and Swat and getting Ank her meds and asking them about some part time employment leads.

Signs of Spring
LOL Catz Thursday

see more crazy cat pics
I'm sorry but honestly, is there any cat owner among us who can say they ARN'T at least cat staff?
Not that it isn't deserved, they are baby sized purring balls of cuteness. They can be left un-attended and don't ask for money or bring home girlfriends/boyfriends or tell us they want to go to a school that will cause us to take out a 2nd mortgage.
And, they love to sleep like we do, think that dress looks fine, thinks you should DEFINATLEY eat a bowl of Temptations Mint Chocolate Chip, and that soft sheets and furniture are the best.

Wipe Out
Saturday saw me up at 7:30 AM helping to coax a scared Rottweiler back into a kennel then driving like Batman to get to the "Center" to help 14 College students Rake, scoop, shovel, dredge, hoe, and otherwise clean up the 2 acre outside of the center.
Then I went home, wrangled my two strays and my three domestic house cats (as per my routine two are geriatric) and got to bed around 11.
Sunday: Woke up at 7:30 went to the Spay/Neuter Emergency Clinic and saw we had 10 cat neuters, 10 cat spays, and 2 dog neuters, not to mention 3 walk in ELISA tests.
2 cats tested positive for AIDS and we had to call the owners but happily the owners decided to let the animals live inside and live out their lives happily and keep them as healthy as possible.
Unfortunately the tech working does not care for cats and one cat in particular could tell and decided to take it out on me. So now I have two fingers with cat bites healing on them.
Which makes it fun, of not extremely difficult to type.
That work day ended at 4:30 which meant an 8.5 hour day but that didn't take into account no breaks.
Needless to say by Monday my already immuno-deficient and spino-defective body decided that it was no longer going to bear weight or allow me to lift my arms or move m legs or form comprehensive speech patterns.
So. yes.
In reward for this I was only able to grab my home phone and tried to call my work, which I was only able to call my answering machine, I left a message (which apparently no one got) and because no one got it I was penalized a extra quarter day off.
Insert long ass sigh here. I only sigh because she thinks I lied about calling in, except I always call in, I never lie about calling in, one time I could not find my stupid cell phone and call in using my regular phone which doesn't have long distance and I get a quarter day penalized.
ok, well I WAS already down so I guess I deserved the kick.

Pink Grapefruit Cake
~KJ
Pink Grapefruit Cake
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1 cup plain Soy Yogurt
1 cup plus 1 tablespoon Vegan sugar
3 Egg Equivalent Egg replacer (arrowroot powder)
3 teaspoons grated pink grapefruit zest (approximately one large Pink grapefruit)
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/3 cup freshly squeezed pink grapefruit juice
For the glaze:
1 cup confectioners’ sugar
2 tablespoons freshly squeezed pink grapefruit juice
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease an 8 1/2 by 4 1/4 by 2 1/2-inch loaf pan. Line the bottom with parchment paper. Grease and flour the pan.
Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt into 1 bowl. In another bowl, whisk together the yogurt, 1 cup sugar, the egg replacer, grapefruit zest, and vanilla. Slowly whisk the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. With a rubber spatula, fold the vegetable oil into the batter, making sure it’s all incorporated. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 50 minutes, or until a cake tester placed in the center of the loaf comes out clean.
Meanwhile, cook the 1/3 cup lemon juice and remaining 1 tablespoon sugar in a small pan until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is clear. Set aside.
When the cake is done, allow it to cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Carefully place on a baking rack over a sheet pan. While the cake is still warm, pour the grapefruit-sugar mixture over the cake and allow it to soak in. Cool.
For the glaze, combine the confectioners’ sugar and grapefruit juice and pour over the cake.

Oh what a tangle web they weave!
Yeah I was confused too.
So I wandered back to my desk and started to make some revisions to some reports and start my monthly report and they called a staff meeting.
I trundled my chair over and they announced that they had three announcements.
1. Jess our boss was leaving. YAY! wait, um, OH! what?! (feign shock that it took so long for coworkers to break her) she is moving to San Fransisco. I told her while she was out there she really had to look up my friend and her partners' restaurant and have dinner there. Jen the homophobic coworker told screeched "TOO MUCH INFORMATION!"
I refrained from slapping the taste out of her mouth.
Bomb Shell number 2. We are only going to have 1 boss now and no more VISTAS. And Another Vista Quit because of the Strain. (again. Feign shock)
The final bomb that actually works in my favor is that we all have to move up to Westcott Community Center! I get my old desk back! I am at my old stomping grounds! I have my team! my CREW! My HOMIES!
I am thrilled. Maquisha (my new boss) also had a heart to heart with me about how I have been treated by my coworkers and caught them rolling out of the office without telling me where they were going or when they would be back and so today she let me work from home the last two hours because Jenifer came to work with a fever and hacking her lungs up and WOULDN'T GO HOME.
What the hell?!
You'll roll out of here early if you have a headache but you have the flu and could be contagious and you'll gladly spread it around? You are not the brightest crayola in the bin.
Its a new Era people a new Era, lets see if I can catch a wave and sit on a new era for me too, not rich , not poor.

Supermanning the Rottweiler
I stop by the road and she sees me and does the frantic arms waiving help me, up, I'm swimming in a heap of trouble motions with her arms.
I sigh, get out of the car and call the dog who comes bouding over to me, then the owner come up and says "BAD DOG! GET OVER HERE" To which the dog immediately ran AWAY from her and into on comming traffic.
I saw a huge truck comming and the woman continuing to walk toward the dog yelling oblivious to the oncoming truck so I pushed her our of the way, ran and pushed the dog out of the way and onto the grass and grabbed its leash.
The owner came over and was crying and thanking me and kissing the dog and alternatley yelling at it. I exploded and and said "You do NOT deserve a dog!" She sat speechless. "You NEVER, EVER, yell at a dog when it is in imminent danger and then exspect it to come and behave itself!" I noticed then my knee was bloddy and turning purple.
Abbey and her owner came over and asked if I wanted to call Dog Control. The woman looked at me horror struck. "No" I said. "Here is what you are going to do." I got up and handed her the leash. "You and your dog are going to come to obedience class at my house once a week for 6 weeks. You are going to practice obedience 10 minutes a day everyday. AND you are going to get a new leash and a gentle leader."
The lady sputtered. "I can't pay for obedience lesseons!"
"I DIDN'T MENTION PAYING!" I said loudly whipping out an business card. meanwhile Abbey is sniffing the blood coming through my pant leg and the other dog is licking my hand and wagging her tail.
We have an audience of some locals, one a friend of mine keeps threatening to clap and I keep warning him with looks that I have one tackle left in me with his name on me.
As I walk toward my car to go excuse myself from the lecture and go put a ice pack on my knee I hear Abbeys mom saying to the crowd "She is like our own personal Dog Whisperer!"
Christ.....Just what I need. Another nickname.

Manual Dexterity
I cannot stand the people that I work with. They are stuck up, loud, mean, and obnoxious.
To be fair I am kind of feeling bummed out today. I saw a lady that I thought might be offering me a job and she wouldn't make eye contact with me. That is never a good sign. So I am pretty sure that means that I didn't get the job. Which is ironic because that means that my friend who sits online all day chatting and procrastinating and passing her work off to other people IS possibly getting a job.
So...As long as I show up and make other people look bad (even if they are good people) then I deserve a job even if I am a total talentless slacker? How is that fair again?
OH YEAH. Because life is not fair.
My sister just called and told me that because I took her to that trade show she got offered two jobs. I got offered no jobs.
In fact I got yelled at for going because it was not in my job description even though the director TOLD me to go. I got in trouble because my sister stopped to talk to everyone and eat a pretzel. Which would have been fine except we also had to go let her try to go win a marine t-shirt.
Crash is really sick right now. I want to go home because he is sick and also because I am pretty bummed. I really hate working on this manual. I hate being working poor, working with people who hate me, and for poverty level.
Off to fire off some more resumes. No rest for the wicked.

So, I bake
Check this shite!

Look at that Gooey Yum!

Aren't you hungry now? I had it for breakfast it was so good.
I'd post the recipe but I forgot it at home true topmax brain style.
I also had to eat some "real food" according to Crash. So I whipped up some of these noodles based solely on the fact that they were pink.

I think maybe I should have gotten the purple flavored ones... I don't know if they HAD purple flavored ones but I may have preferred them.
Tonight for dinner I am going to have somosas and flat bread probably. Jeci wants to go to fight practice but I am tired and sore so unless she pays someone, "NOT HAPPENING!"
I think as soon as 3:30 rolls around I am planning to bail out of here like a bad habit. I am such a bad employee I am really tempting karma I think. Well. Except for the whole fact that they pay us 2 bucks an hour and our insurance is crap and we don't get a lunch break. So. NEVERMIND!

A freak for the random...
1. I am now addicted to Rachel Kessler from Seattle's The Stranger who makes meat even sound appetizing to a vegan. I now hang my vegan head in shame.
I am embarrassed to say I watched it twice and was tapping my foot. TAPPING!
It was as bad as when I was tapping along with Calisha and Fabrishia of Drunky Brewster
I am actually still am pretty keen on going to see them live some time when I drag my sorry crippled ass down to NYC my personal fave:
So I am old, and I like loser things. But hey, I'm a freakin cripple! Deal!
I am off to seat my freshly showered butt down to finish up a hat that has taken TOO FREAKIN LONG. I vow it will be DONE tomorrow and posted. POSTED.
Plugz!, Origami, and Pics Oh My!
My eyes nearly fell out of my head.
Here are pictures of my new lovelies:

and MORE:

And see how they make you look all bad azz?

See?
So go out and buy yourself a present, really, don't you deserve something pretty and shiney?
I think you do.
I also made some origami because I am freezinf at work and yes I am trying to make 100 of these little bass-turds. Its freezing in this basement and I am bored to tears with the manual and am apprently the only one who showed for work today... so...

Yeah... This art manual is driving me to origami madness.

Wallet from Replayground.com

So I am writing an Art Manual and found this art site called: Replayground.com
The lady Tiffany said I could use whatever I wanted from there with their compliments!
So I tried a few wallets one from a cereal box and one made from an old GE Renewable energy folder.
I think that I am going to make some more of these and sell them for Kind Outreach and Humane Education Project as a fund raiser.
To make your own go to www.replayground.com
