Stimulate me already.

"Based on the information you provided, your expected stimulus payment is $343."

Well then GET ON WITH IT ALREADY!

I should not complain I mean I DO owe the government money and everything.

I think I owe them like twenty five dollars. Or 300. Or something.

I don't remember.

Seems that if they can take that much money away from a person making 9,000 a year and STILL ask them to pay money to the government they can SERIOUSLY kiss my ass and wait until I take care of my own family concerns first.

I want to pay down my bills so that they stop bugging me for a while.

I have enough to worry about. There is something to say about more money more problems. I seriously think I would like to have less stuff and less money. Then I would have less things to worry about taking care of and losing.

Except my cats, they take priority because they require little and GIVE GIVE GIVE.

Natures little scrumptious muffins.

so cute I could eat their fuzzy faces off.

Forsythia

Fortsythia is apparently the name of the flowering yellow bush that I saw and took a photo of for my blogger page.

Thank you http://obsidiankitten.blogspot.com for that little bit of information.

I knew about the hyacinth because its one of my favorite scents and flowers but the yellow bush was thwarting me!

So I am at the WCC working on stuff and alternately trying to find a job.

I have applied to 4 places already and its been an hour.

I am only looking for part time one would think I would be able to find something!

I have a pretty decent portfolio!

I am freezing because the window in the office is open and it is 50 degrees in here.

YAY! 50 degrees!

I have a coat, sweat shirt and two t-shirts on and my hands are FREEZING!

I am going to ask Jonathen to shut the GD window.

We just found out there is going to be a new 40 below summit for people 40 years old and younger to try to drum up people staying in Syracuse who are 40 and younger. But since the job market here sucks we are trying to get local not for profits to come and do job fairs and get 40 and younger people out to try to get them to apply for jobs and stay in the Syracuse area.

I am going to be doing the 40 below Summit meeting and hopefully it will give me some job leads. Which leads me to my next task, contacting Robin and Swat and getting Ank her meds and asking them about some part time employment leads.

I'm sorry but honestly, is there any cat owner among us who can say they ARN'T at least cat staff?

Not that it isn't deserved, they are baby sized purring balls of cuteness. They can be left un-attended and don't ask for money or bring home girlfriends/boyfriends or tell us they want to go to a school that will cause us to take out a 2nd mortgage.

And, they love to sleep like we do, think that dress looks fine, thinks you should DEFINATLEY eat a bowl of Temptations Mint Chocolate Chip, and that soft sheets and furniture are the best.

Wipe Out

Thursday evening we had a Senior Dinner which meant that I worked an 11 hour day. Then Friday I had an 10 hour day because Crash ran all over Syracuse and back.

Saturday saw me up at 7:30 AM helping to coax a scared Rottweiler back into a kennel then driving like Batman to get to the "Center" to help 14 College students Rake, scoop, shovel, dredge, hoe, and otherwise clean up the 2 acre outside of the center.
Then I went home, wrangled my two strays and my three domestic house cats (as per my routine two are geriatric) and got to bed around 11.

Sunday: Woke up at 7:30 went to the Spay/Neuter Emergency Clinic and saw we had 10 cat neuters, 10 cat spays, and 2 dog neuters, not to mention 3 walk in ELISA tests.

2 cats tested positive for AIDS and we had to call the owners but happily the owners decided to let the animals live inside and live out their lives happily and keep them as healthy as possible.

Unfortunately the tech working does not care for cats and one cat in particular could tell and decided to take it out on me. So now I have two fingers with cat bites healing on them.

Which makes it fun, of not extremely difficult to type.

That work day ended at 4:30 which meant an 8.5 hour day but that didn't take into account no breaks.

Needless to say by Monday my already immuno-deficient and spino-defective body decided that it was no longer going to bear weight or allow me to lift my arms or move m legs or form comprehensive speech patterns.

So. yes.

In reward for this I was only able to grab my home phone and tried to call my work, which I was only able to call my answering machine, I left a message (which apparently no one got) and because no one got it I was penalized a extra quarter day off.

Insert long ass sigh here. I only sigh because she thinks I lied about calling in, except I always call in, I never lie about calling in, one time I could not find my stupid cell phone and call in using my regular phone which doesn't have long distance and I get a quarter day penalized.

ok, well I WAS already down so I guess I deserved the kick.

Time to head home kids.

Pink Grapefruit Cake

Why won't someone make me this?

~KJ

Pink Grapefruit Cake

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1 cup plain Soy Yogurt
1 cup plus 1 tablespoon Vegan sugar
3 Egg Equivalent Egg replacer (arrowroot powder)
3 teaspoons grated pink grapefruit zest (approximately one large Pink grapefruit)
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/3 cup freshly squeezed pink grapefruit juice

For the glaze:
1 cup confectioners’ sugar
2 tablespoons freshly squeezed pink grapefruit juice

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease an 8 1/2 by 4 1/4 by 2 1/2-inch loaf pan. Line the bottom with parchment paper. Grease and flour the pan.

Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt into 1 bowl. In another bowl, whisk together the yogurt, 1 cup sugar, the egg replacer, grapefruit zest, and vanilla. Slowly whisk the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. With a rubber spatula, fold the vegetable oil into the batter, making sure it’s all incorporated. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 50 minutes, or until a cake tester placed in the center of the loaf comes out clean.

Meanwhile, cook the 1/3 cup lemon juice and remaining 1 tablespoon sugar in a small pan until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is clear. Set aside.

When the cake is done, allow it to cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Carefully place on a baking rack over a sheet pan. While the cake is still warm, pour the grapefruit-sugar mixture over the cake and allow it to soak in. Cool.

For the glaze, combine the confectioners’ sugar and grapefruit juice and pour over the cake.

Oh what a tangle web they weave!

So today at the staff one on one my boss starts giving me glowing praise about how I am doing such a great job and doing good work and how everything looks so good.

Yeah I was confused too.

So I wandered back to my desk and started to make some revisions to some reports and start my monthly report and they called a staff meeting.

I trundled my chair over and they announced that they had three announcements.

1. Jess our boss was leaving. YAY! wait, um, OH! what?! (feign shock that it took so long for coworkers to break her) she is moving to San Fransisco. I told her while she was out there she really had to look up my friend and her partners' restaurant and have dinner there. Jen the homophobic coworker told screeched "TOO MUCH INFORMATION!"

I refrained from slapping the taste out of her mouth.

Bomb Shell number 2. We are only going to have 1 boss now and no more VISTAS. And Another Vista Quit because of the Strain. (again. Feign shock)

The final bomb that actually works in my favor is that we all have to move up to Westcott Community Center! I get my old desk back! I am at my old stomping grounds! I have my team! my CREW! My HOMIES!

I am thrilled. Maquisha (my new boss) also had a heart to heart with me about how I have been treated by my coworkers and caught them rolling out of the office without telling me where they were going or when they would be back and so today she let me work from home the last two hours because Jenifer came to work with a fever and hacking her lungs up and WOULDN'T GO HOME.

What the hell?!

You'll roll out of here early if you have a headache but you have the flu and could be contagious and you'll gladly spread it around? You are not the brightest crayola in the bin.

Its a new Era people a new Era, lets see if I can catch a wave and sit on a new era for me too, not rich , not poor.
